They're brothers. However, their family choosed Noctis as their heir because Cloud shown no interest to lead the kingdom. Knowing that his family doesn't accept him anymore, he left the castle. The other reason he left the castle was because he and his brother never get along together since they were child because they always had different opinion about everything. Everything...but not for this one girl...Tifa. They both loved her... Noctis fall
